Promoted WHDH-TV’s three-screen strategy as New England braced for Hurricane Earl’s impact.
Richard Feindel is an Emmy award-winning videographer based in Boston. He currently works as a Photographer/Editor within the Creative Services Department at WCVB-TV and TheBostonChannel.com, Boston’s ABC affiliate. Richard also specializes in Final Cut Pro editing, web design and WordPress integration.
On-Air Promotions
Richard shoots and edits on-air promotional campaigns for WCVB-TV in Needham, MA. In May 2009, he was honored with an EMMY award for Outstanding Short Form Photography. He has also edited television commercials for the United Nations and The History Channel.
Television News
Richard’s work has been recognized by the New England Associated Press/RTNDA for excellence in both Breaking News and Feature Videography. He has been honored with multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, including the National Mark of Excellence Award for TV Sports Photography. His work has also been featured on CNN and CNN.com.
Website Design
While at WHDH-TV, Richard redesigned the station’s website, WHDH.com. The site sports a clean design, easy-to-use video player and heavy social media integration. As a result, page views increased over 41% and uniques increased over 38%.
Social Media
Richard developed 7NEWS on Facebook, one of the largest local television news Facebook communities in the nation. Viewers can interact with 7NEWS, submitting comments and video messages to be featured on-air and online. Over 90% of the community’s members are within the highly valued 18-49 age demographic. Since WHDH.com launched Richard’s redesign, Facebook referrals have increased over 500%.
